Mrs Lloyd

Hi, I am Mrs Lloyd! I have been working at George Street since 2012. This year I am part of the languages, literacy and communication team.

During my time at George Street I have had the opportunity of working in both Foundation phase and KS2. This year I am working in Reception and am very excited about working in the Foundation Phase for another year. I really enjoy encouraging our children build upon their skills and helping them to overcome any challenges on the way.

Every Monday after school, I run the Foundation Phase Lego club. I always take the Foundation phase singing assembly on a Thursday which I really enjoy.

I had student mentor training 2 years ago and I am now able to mentor our student teachers, who we love having in school! I am really looking forward to supporting and guiding the next generation of teachers

Last year I was successful at applying to be a Teacher Governor. I enjoy sitting on the board and helping to support and contribute to further improving our school.

I am very passionate about using ICT in school to develop and enhance the children’s learning in all areas. ICT is all around us and it is important that the children are equipped to use different devices correctly. It is also very important that we teach our children how to be safe when using the technology.

Welsh is another passion of mine. I believe it’s vital for our children to develop and embrace the Welsh language and culture. I believe this can be done through fun exciting activities and games. Welsh is taught and spoken incidentally by staff throughout the school day. I really enjoy being a part of our annual Eisteddfod which celebrates all things Welsh.

In my spare time I enjoy cycling and going on long walks with my husband and my three children. I have two family dogs that also enjoy our long walks.
