My name is Mrs Simons. I work as a teaching assistant in George Street and obtained my level 3 qualification many years ago. I have worked in our wonderful school for over 10 years. Previous to George Street, I worked in Pontymoile SNRB with autistic children.
My current role is predominantly intervention based, working with small groups of children delivering Read Write Inc and number recovery programs. There is nothing I enjoy more than seeing children progress, flourish and achieve their full potential. It is my passion to ensure that all children have a high standard of education.
I enjoy learning new things to enhance my knowledge and career development so that I am able to support children fully and competently in achieving their goals, for example I am trained in Elkan (a speech and language program) where I successfully achieved an ‘A’ level qualification. I am also trained in language and play, number and play, number recovery, tackling the tail (literacy program), read write inc and many more.
My hobbies are keeping fit, family research, decorating, jigsaws and reading. I own a border collie who keeps me on the go and doesn't mind letting me know when she needs a hug.
