Hello! My name’s Miss Bowden, I teach Year 5, Dosbarth Penfro.
I have been a teacher in George Street since September and have loved getting to know lots of new colleagues, children and parents. As well as being a year 5 Class teacher I am also responsible for Eco-council, ESDGC and Science, all very exciting roles. This term I have also started to lead singing assembly which I love…stay posted for some snippets of our new songs!
I enjoy all aspects of my job and think teaching is a vocation but the thing I love most is building relationships with the children, laughing with them and watching them persevere, learn and grow.
I am very passionate about developing creativity and independence in children and preparing them as Global Citizens. I think it is vital that our children feel happy, valued, listened to and cared for when they come to school every day.
I have been a teacher for eighteen years and before starting at George Street I worked in Cardiff, not too far from where I grew up. I have a daughter who is growing up very quickly! In my spare time I love to read, cook and eat!
Relationships with my children’s parents and families are very important to me so please feel welcome to speak to me at any time before or after school to discuss anything that might be worrying you or with any questions that you might have.
