My name is Lisa Davies. Since starting work at George Street in 2007, I have worked in all year groups, but am currently very fortunate to be working in Year 1, as the Class Teacher in Dosbarth Tulip. I love sharing new experiences with the children and watching them grow in confidence and develop new skills.
Before going to university, I did my A-levels in History, Welsh, and Food Technology and these still remain strong passions of mine. I do however just love to learn and I hope that this is an enthusiasm that I can help to foster in our youngsters as we grow and learn together.
I lead our Pupil Parliament which is made up of children from the various pupil voice groups within the school. Through this we ensure that children have a say in every aspect of school life and they know that their ideas are listened to, valued and acted upon.
I coordinate after school clubs throughout the school, as well as running the cookery club for Foundation Phase pupils. I also lead our enterprise initiatives, which have in the past included careers days, fun afternoons, summer fayres and Christmas bazaars (all ideas welcome – please!)
As a busy mother of three children, I have very little spare time, but when I do, I love spending time with them, shopping and going to concerts with my daughter, and watching films and football with my sons.
If you have any concerns or questions at all please do not hesitate to contact me, either via the school office, on the door at the end of the day or via Twitter. Remember to follow @GSPriYear1 on Twitter to keep up with all the latest news from our class.
