Mrs Manley

Hi, Mrs Manley here! I am George Street’s Acting Deputy Headteacher and Foundation Phase Leader. I have the pleasure of leading a fantastic team who not only work extremely hard, but also like to have fun! I am also a Reception class teacher, I am the teacher who is known for being energetic and a little boisterous!

George Street School has been part of my life since I was four years old. Yes, I was a George Street pupil and am now a George Street teacher - they just cannot get rid of me!

I have been a teacher for a total of seventeen years where I have taught in both Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2, however I have been working at George Street for eight  years and have thoroughly enjoyed every year group I have taught.

My passion in school is Maths; I love to teach maths, showing children how to use resources to support their learning and seeing children achieve their ‘eureka’ moments! As Maths is my passion, I am the leader of the Numeracy team where I am in charge of developing numeracy across the curriculum as well as overseeing all aspects of Maths in school. I am proud to say I gained the title 'Outstanding Teacher of Numeracy' by the Education Achievement Service.

I take great pleasure in providing a stimulating, fun and happy environment for all children in my class and aim to have every child smiling by the end of the day due to having achieved something meaningful. I love working with each and every child in my class and value them all as individuals.

Being a teacher at George Street is a very rewarding job and making a difference to all children's future is an honour!

When not in school, I am a mother to three children and love to take them out and have fun with them. We love to go camping in the summer where we go for walks and chill out!

I love having contact with parents and children in and outside of school. I thoroughly enjoy having parents visiting us for opens session and try my very best to reply to all tweets on Twitter.
