Mrs K Davies
I have been a staff member at George Street Primary since September 2001. I felt extremely honoured to be joining a school that had had such an important influence on lots of my family and friends who had enjoyed a happy education there, including my father who attended the old George Street School. Over the years I have been involved in many initiatives that have allowed George Street to go from strength to strength.
The quality of staff, the resources, the parent and governor support and most importantly the children all combine to make George Street Primary School a fantastic place to work.
I am really proud to take on the role of Acting Head teacher while Mrs Wood undertakes her secondment for the EAS. Leading such a fantastic group of staff who are very capable practitioners is very exciting. This is done with the support of our Governing Body who are committed to being my critical friend, ensuring that we continue to move the school forward. I can safely say that as a VALUES school we are getting it right. I am always proud to show around visitors who always comment on the manners and friendliness of all they meet.
We are a school that performs well and our results show that we are in the top 50% of schools in Wales. This is down to the dedication of everyone who is involved in George Street School. I am pleased to lead the school as we strive to ensure that each child reaches their potential in a fun, secure, stimulating and challenging environment.
We pride ourselves on being at the heart of the community. Parents and carers are welcome at school so please take part in the many opportunities we aim to provide.
I also believe that you can also measure a school in smiles. Pupils and staff are happy here so smiling is something we do best at George Street! I endeavour to help each child enjoy their education at George Street, so please let me know if I can support you or your children in any way.
Oh and most children will be able to tell you I am an Elvis fan!
